USA Quickball - LYBA will be offering this introductory baseball program to boys and girls ages 4 to 6. USA Quickball teaches all diamond skills in a more active, engaging way. Each session is 75 minutes in length and will be divided into a skill development portion (40 min), with stations focused on fundamentals of baserunning, fielding, throwing, and batting, and a game portion (35 min). The practice ends with a fast-paced game. Each player gets to bat and to play different positions in every fast-paced game! Scoring occurs on both offense and defense, and anyone can succeed regardless of skill level. Anyone can play, and teamwork and success are emphasized on all levels. USA Quickball will be played each Saturday morning April through June (excluding the first Saturday of Lebanon April Vacation).

Rookie Baseball – Our Rookie division is for players who are 7 and 8 years of age. Rookies is still focused on skill development and game play, including learning the basic rules of baseball. Every player having success is the goal, especially as batters.  Pitching techniques are introduced during practices for those players who are interested and ready. This prepares them for kid pitching in the Minors. Many USA Quickball teaching strategies and techniques will be used in this league. While scoring is not kept in this league, outs will be recorded as we transition closer to standard baseball rules and play. Rookie teams will practice/play 2 weekday evenings and Saturday mornings.

Minors Baseball  – Our Minors division is for players who are 9 and 10 years of age and is played on 60-foot bases (46-foot mound).  Players do all of the pitching in these six-inning games. Though baserunners cannot take leads, stealing and bunting are allowed. Official paid umpires are utilized and the score is kept with run-rules in place. The spring season culminates in a week-long tournament for which the championship game is played at our end-of-season Picnic Day. All Minors teams make the tournament, and there is also a skills competition, including a home run derby, in which every player participates. Minors teams will practice or play a game 3-5 days a week. Their home field is Logan Field on Water Street in Lebanon.  Parents volunteer time to support field preparation and concession stand operation.

Majors Baseball – Our Majors division is for players who are 11 and 12 years of age and is played on 60-foot bases. Six-inning games are played with official Cal Ripken organization rules and with two paid umpires. The Majors season will culminate with tournament. All teams will qualify for the tournament.
